The creative fun and power of questions

I’M A BIG BELIEVER IN THE POWER OF QUESTIONS as tools to identify, break and create patterns, which can lead us to new ideas. I recently came across a video that’s been available on YouTube for the past year or so, but was new to me. I can’t swear that this delightful and creative idea began with a question, but it sure seems to me the underlying question is “How would monks who have sworn a vow of silence sing a song?”
What a great question, and what a great answer. If you haven’t seen silent monks singing the Halleluiah Chorus, then take a minute to watch this. Kudos to the kids who came up with the idea.
And if you’re not using questions as a way to generate ideas, here’s a tool to get you started. (I would consider this Monk amusement to have resulted from the “shifted point of view” question technique.)
Now tell me, in your experience, what great questions have led to great creative results or innovation?
